Habitat and Ecology [top]
Habitat and Ecology: A. pluricapitata is a perennial creeping shrub which grows in dense, wet primary or secondary forests, at riverbanks, also in clearing and in open ground, peatswamp forests and on hill evergreen forest on lateritic soil.

Use and Trade: In Yemen this species is used a firewood, for animals (e.g. sheep, goats and camels), charcoal production, and as herbal medicine.
Threats [top]
Major Threat(s): Forests in the ecoregions where the species occurs (Chao Ohraya lowland moist deciduous forests, Peninsular Malaysian rain forests, Western Java rain forests, Peninsular Malaysian peat swamp forests) have been degraded, and very little of the original forest cover remains; the major threat to the forest habitat is clearing for plantations and agriculture, especially of rubber, coconut, and oil palm for export.
