Use and Trade: This species attains a length of 13.0cm SL; of no interest to fisheries. However, the fish is consumed by the local people. Selim and Vishwanath (1997) reported that the fish was highly priced in the market.

Major Threat(s): The rivers of Ukrul District of Manipur where the fish is distributed is facing problems due to over exploitation, poisoning and dynamiting (Selim and Vishwanath 1997, Kosygin and Vishwanath 2003). In other areas of its range no widesrpread threats have been identified.
