Threats [top]
Major Threat(s): This species is restricted to forests in a part of the world that is experiencing major deforestation, mainly due to agricultural expansion and logging, particularly in Bangladesh (Sirajul Islam et al. 2006). The impact the pet trade has on the species and its allies (Vogel et al. 2004) remains uncertain. However, significant areas of habitat remain, so that these are not considered major threats at this time.
Conservation Actions [top]
Conservation Actions: There are no known species-specific conservation measures in place for this species, although there are protected areas within its distribution. The species has been recorded in Barail Wildlife Sanctuary, Assam, north-eastern India (Das et al. 2009).
Further research into the habitat status and threats of this species is needed to ensure that no threatened status is triggered in the future.
