Habitat and Ecology: D. villosa is a twining herb which grows in mountain valleys, at the edges and clearings in evergreen montane and riverine forest. Described as a species from subhumid climate.

Major Threat(s): There are no known major threats to this species.
Conservation Actions [top]
Conservation Actions: It is known to occur in several protected areas throughout its range such as Andringitra National Park in Madagascar, Kanchenjunga Conservation Area in Nepal, Taroko National Park in Taiwan and Udzungwa Mountains National Park in Tanzania. Seeds have yet to be collected as an ex situ conservation effort. It is not known to occur in any Botanical Garden.
