Population: The global population size has not been quantified, but the species is described as common, although scarce to locally fairly common in Myanmar and northern Vietnam (del Hoyo et al. 2005), while the population in China has been estimated at possibly c.10,000-100,000 breeding pairs (Brazil 2009).
