Range Description: As currently understood the species is very widely distributed, ranging from New Caledonia and Australia to Thailand and Lao PDR, from Myanmar to the Philippines, Taiwan and Japan.

Habitat and Ecology: Usually found in swampy lowland forest, and is tolerant of some disturbance.

Major Threat(s): Some individual populations are threatened by deforestation and possibly plantation establishment, some island populations may be threatened by global warming. However the species, as currently understood, is not globally threatened.

Conservation Actions: There is a need for further data from parts of the species range and on some of the subspecies, and the taxonomic issues need to be resolved. Beyond this no specific conservation measures are needed for the species, but possibly measures are needed for some of the subspecies.
