Geographic Range [top]
Range Description: The species is restricted to the lower Salween and Tenasserim (Tanintharyi River) basin in Myanmar (Talwar and Jhingran 1990), southern China (Yunnan) and associated tributaries in western Thailand (Department of Agriculture 2009). Records from the Western Ghats in India (Shaji et al. 2000) are considered doubtful. BANCA (2009) report the species from the Ayeyarwaddy basin above Myitkyina, a record which requires confirmation.
