Range Description: This species inhabits the Malay Peninsula, the Borneo areas of Sabah, Sarawak and Kalimantan, Sumatra, the Mentawai Islands, Nias, Nako, and Pinang and Tioman Islands (Malkmus et al. 2002). It has also been found in Lao PDR and Viet Nam (Manthey 2010).

Habitat and Ecology [top]
Habitat and Ecology: This diurnal species is native to primary rainforests up to elevations of 1,400 m (Malkmus et al. 2002), however, they have also been documented in secondary forests (Iskander 2004). They occur mainly along streams of all sizes and perch at night on twigs and branches overhanging water, with juveniles occurring at lower levels than the adults (R. Inger pers. comm.)
