Citation Peter Paul van Dijk, Annemarie Ohler, Shi Haitao, Bosco Chan. 2004. Kalophrynus interlineatus. The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species 2004: e.T57837A11691984. https://dx.doi.org/10.2305/IUCN.UK.2004.RLTS.T57837A11691984.en. Downloaded on 22 September 2020. Description JUSTIFICATION Listed as Least Concern in view of its wide distribution, tolerance of a degree of habitat modification, presumed large population, and because it is unlikely to be declining fast enough to qualify for listing in a more threatened category. RANGE DESCRIPTION This species is known from Yunnan, Guangdong, Guangxi and Hainan Provinces, including Hong Kong, in southern China, central Myanmar through northern Thailand, and much of Lao Peoples Democratic Republic, Cambodia and virtually all of Viet Nam (Matsui et al., 1996; Zug et al., 1998). It occurs from lowlands up to 900m asl. DESCRIPTION It is generally not a common species, not even at breeding aggregations, and populations appear to be localized within its wide range. HABITAT AND ECOLOGY It inhabits grasslands, shrublands, and deciduous forest and is also found on the edge of rainforest (Chan-ard et al., 1999). It has also been found in degraded forest and abandoned and cultivated fields. It breeds in small temporary rain pools or freshwater marshes. THREATS Destruction and degradation of breeding habitats caused by land use changes and the intensification of agriculture are threats to this species in China. In mainland Southeast Asia there might be localized impacts from forest degradation or the pollution of rain pools. CONSERVATION ACTIONS The species inhabits several protected areas throughout its range. Safeguarding the integrity of existing protected areas and gathering information about the species conservation biology is desirable.
