Citation Description Asia: Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and Nepal (Ref. 4832). Known from Maeklong (Ref. 26336), Salween, Chao Phraya and Mekong basins (Ref. 26336, 27732). Geographic Range [top] Range Description: It is widely distributed in India (all along the Himalaya, Assam, Uttar Pradesh, Urtanchal, West Bengal, Bihar), Bangladesh and Nepal (Talwar and Jhingran 1991). Recently reported from Mekong and Bassac rivers of Mekong Delta, Viet Nam (Tung et al. 2005), although it may be introduced in these areas. Also reported from Pakistan and Afghanistan possibly related to a valid subspecies Labeo dyocheilus pakistanensis.
