The Thai specimens may be confused with A. gracile from Java.

Habitat and Ecology: Grows in many forest types on fertile soil. Spreads by long rhizomes forming extensive patches.

Use and Trade: It is cultivated in southern Lao PDR for collection and sale of the seed. The seed is used in Chinese medicine. Also used on a small scale in Lao PDR for treating stomach ache.
