Conservation Actions: The typical variety occurs in a few protected areas (e.g. Chang Riec Protected Forest, Viet Nam). None of the Lao PDR localities are protected, hence some monitoring is required to detect any future declines as that could impact the current assessment of this taxon.
Variety stenophyllum is known from four collections - three from Cambodia (two localities) and one from southern Viet Nam. This taxon has not been seen since 1870, so it is not known if it is still extant. There is no information on the altitudinal range, but it is likely to have been collected at low elevations.
