Range Description: The species has a wide distribution in southeast Asia, with records from Malaysia (e.g., the Endau drainage in Peninsula Malaysia; Ng and Tan 1999) and Sarawak), and Indonesia (Sumatra, Java and Kalimantan; Kottelat et al. 1993, Roberts 1993), and is possibly present in lower southern Thailand (C. Vidthayanon pers. comm. 2012).
Records from the Mekong and central Thailand (the Chao Phraya and Mae Khlong basins (e.g., Doi 1997) are considered misidentifications.
