Habitat and Ecology: This woody herb, or shrub, is found in grasslands and thickets, on the banks between rice fields and in cleared areas along roads and also in forests and degraded forests.

Use and Trade: This species is used medicinally in Cambodia, Thailand and Laos, in particular for the treatment of respiratory infections. It is also used to fertilize soils (Nguyen Van Thuan et al. 1987).
Threats [top]
Major Threat(s): The habitat where this species occurs suffers only from the general threats from expanding human populations and loss of habitat. This species, however, is tolerant of some disturbance, being found along roadside, in agricultural areas and degraded forest.
Conservation Actions [top]
Conservation Actions: There are no specific conservation measures in place for this widespread species. It may benefit from existing protected areas, for example, it is listed as a species of the Cat Tien National Park in Vietnam. It was not found in available lists of seed bank or botanic garden species.
