The species has an Indo-West Pacific distribution. It is known from Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia (Bintan Island, Sumatra), and Papua New Guinea (Monkolprasit et al. 1997, Larson 2001).
