Citation Description Geographic Range [top] Range Description: This species is distributed throughout the Indo-West Pacific region from KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa, Madagascar, the Mozambique Channel, Laccadive Sea, South China Sea, the Philippines, Australia (West Australia, Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania), Coral Sea, Chesterfield and Tanimbar Islands and New Caledonia (Holthuis 1991, Zarenkov 2006, DEWHA 2009). This species probably has a wider distribution than is currently documented, including areas of East Africa, the Arabian Sea, the Bay of Bengal, and Melanesia (R.A. Wahle pers. comm. 2008).
