Population [top]
Population: No population data is availbale for this species. Many of the herbarium records found are from the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. The most recent collections found were from Singapore in 2004. Whitmore (1972) reported this species to be rare in Peninsular Malaysia, with records of it being collected only once, at three separate locations.

Habitat and Ecology [top]
Habitat and Ecology: This tree is found in lowland forest.
Systems: Terrestrial
Threats [top]
Major Threat(s): This species suffers from the general threats of habitat loss associated with expanding human populations. Its lowland forest habitat is vulnerable to clearance for agriculture, including palm oil plantations, timber extraction and infrastructure developments. In Singapore, for example, extensive urbanization has lead to the species here being considered as Critically Endangered (Chong et al. 2009).
Conservation Actions [top]
Conservation Actions: There are no specific conservation measures in place for this species. It may benefit from existing protected areas, for example, it is recorded from the Sungai Wain Protected Area, in Kalimantan Timur. However, such areas cover only a small proportion of its range. Further research is needed into its current population status and trends, and its habitat status and threats, to help determine any specific conservation needs. It was not found in available lists of seed bank or botanic garden species.
