Population: The global population size has not been quantified, but the species is described as generally common, although an uncommon non-breeding visitor to Myanmar and Thailand (del Hoyo et al. 2004), while the population in China has been estimated at c.100-10,000 breeding pairs and c.50-1,000 individuals on migration (Brazil 2009).
