The extent of occurrence and area of occupancy are beyond the thresholds for any threatened category. Population severely fragmented: No Habitat and Ecology [top] Habitat and Ecology: A small shrub to large tree which occurs in montane forests (often mossy forest) and in low scrub on exposed mountain ridges and summits. Generally associated with higher altitude swampy areas either on limestone or sandstone substrates, especially where these are close to the surface. On the island of New Guinea it may be associated with Southern Beech (Nothofagus) forests. Recorded from 700 up to 3,300 m asl.
