Range Description: Species distributed in central tropical Asia. It has been reported from China, India, Myanmar, West Nepal and Pakistan, there appears to be a distribution gap in East Nepal and Bhutan.

Habitat and Ecology: Rhynchosia himalensis is a climbing herb which occurs twining among the grass, in forest understories, river valleys, mountains and fields.

Major Threat(s): There are no known major threats to this species.
Conservation Actions [top]
Conservation Actions: Specimens of R. himalensis have been collected from protected areas such as Nanda Devi UNESCO-MAB Biosphere Reserve in India and Three Parallel Rivers of Yunnan Protected Areas in China. Seeds have been collected by the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) for the ICRISATPP - Pigeonpea Collection. It is not known to occur in Botanical Gardens.
