Range Description: The species has a south and southeast Asian distribution to Australia. Widespread from Bangladesh, India (Bihar, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Orissa, West Bengal), Sri Lanka, Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Thailand, Viet Nam, China (Guangdong Guangxi, Hainan, Yunnan, Hong Kong, and Taiwan), Indonesia, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, and Australia (Northern Territory, Queensland). Introduced widely elsewhere as a decorative plant.
