Range Description: Brandt (1974) listed the distribution as eastern India (Manipur and Assam in the Chindwin drainage, and possibly the upper Brahmaputra), Myanmar, the Mekong River (Thailand, Viet Nam, Lao PDR, and Cambodia) (Graf and Cummings 2011). In Thailand it is known from Yala in the south, to the northern border, but it is not found in the Maekhlong River basin. Dang et al. (1980) reported it from Cao Bang and Vinh Phuc, Viet Nam. Haas (1969) records the species from Tonkin (northern Viet Nam), Cambodia, and Thailand. Presence in Peninsular Malaysia and Indonesia (Borneo) requires confirmation.
