Habitat and Ecology: U. picta is found in areas of grassland, grassland with scattered trees including Acacia grassland; on rocky ground, deep sandy soils; by riverbanks, floodplains and gallery forest.

Use and Trade: This taxon is used in Nigeria to treat ectoparasites (parasites that live in hair or skin) in people and domestic animal.

Major Threat(s): There are no major threats to this taxon at present. Threats to this species would only be very general and localized.
Conservation Actions [top]
Conservation Actions: U. picta is not known to occur within the protected areas network but there are many protected areas within the species range. Seeds have been collected by the Millennium Seed Bank Project as a method of ex situ conservation.
