Range Description: Xyris capensis is south and southeast Asia, South Africa, and South America. In India, Assam, Meghalaya (Cook 1996) and Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu (Gamble 1931). It is restricted to high elevations at an altitude of 1,600-2,000 m (eFlora of China).
