Threats [top]
Major Threat(s): Clearance of primary forest poses a threat (Ferguson-Lees and Christie 2001). Hunting in Mizoram, India has also been identified as a potential threat (Ved and John 2011). Crested Serpent-eagle Spilornis cheela and Scarlet Minivet Pericrocotus flammeus have been observed predating and attacking juvenile and adult Jerdons Baza respectively, in Kerala, India (Vishnudas 2007).
