Range Description: The species occurs in India (in the Ganges, Brahmaputra, Mahanadi rivers), Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh and Myanmar. It has also been reported from the Mekong basin (Rahman 1989; Talwar and Jhingaran 1991; Menon 1999; Petr and Swar 2002).
