Range Description: This species has a wide distribution in the Indo-West Pacific region from: Mozambique to the Phillippines and New Caledonia (Holthuis 2002). It has been recorded from: the Gulf of Mannar (separating India and Sri Lanka), the Arabian Sea, Madagascar, Indonesia, Australia (Botany Bay, New South Wales), the Chesterfield and Loyalty Islands, Vanuatu, and Fiji (Holthuis 2002).
