Geographic Range [top]
Range Description: This species has a wide range through South East Asia from India through Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, Peoples Democratic Republic of Lao, Viet Nam, China, Peninsular Malayasia to Java and Sumatra. It may be present in Bangladesh (Kumar and Sane 2003) however, no herbarium records, or references in the Floras for this area were found.

Population [top]
Population: No population data is available, however, the population is inferred to exceed critical thresholds, as the species has a wide geographic range. It can also tolerate some disturbance as it is found in secondary forest and in clearings. It is reported to be common in Hong Kong (Lau 2003). Recent herbarium specimens were found, the most recent dated 2006.

Habitat and Ecology: This liana is found in lowland and mountain forests, also along the edges of forests, in clearings and in secondary forest.

Major Threat(s): The forest habitat, where this species is found, suffers from the general threats associated with expanding human populations.
Conservation Actions [top]
Conservation Actions: There are no specific conservation measures in place for this widespread species. It is listed as present in the Hong Kong botanic gardens (Wong 2009) and as an accession in the Millennium Seed Bank project. It may benefit from existing protected areas within its range, for example, it is listed as a species of Mu Ko Similan National Park, in Thailand.
