Citation Description Geographic Range [top] Range Description: This species is known from northern Viet Nam (Inger et al., 1999; Orlov et al., 2000), northeastern Myanmar (Boulenger, 1887), and northern Thailand in Doi Inthanon, Chiang Mai and southwestern Yunnan in China. It probably occurs more widely than current records suggest, especially in areas between known sites, and it is presumed to be present in Lao Peoples Democratic Republic. Population [top] Population: It is common and frequently encountered in China although few records/specimens exist from mainland Southeast Asia even from well-surveyed areas. It breeds in small hill streams and tadpoles depend on clean, clear water. It is collected by local villagers for consumption. Conservation Actions [top] Conservation Actions: All of the localities in Myanmar are within protected areas. It is also in Tam Dao National Park in Viet Nam. More information is needed on population status, distribution and natural history.
