Citation | Description | Geographic Range [top]
Range Description: This species has been recorded from the Moei River between Myanmar and Thailand (type locality) near Mae Hong Song in western Thailand (Mahidol collection, collected between 1964-1968). It has also been found in the drainage systems of the two large rivers Salween and Ayeyarwaddy (Brandt 1974, F. Köhler pers. comm. 2010).
Morrison (1954) considered Melania henriettae Gray, 1834 from China may be a synonym of this species. If confirmed, this would extend the species range into southern China.
