Leaves simple, opposite, lanceolate or oblong-elliptic to ovate, 9–15 × 3–8 cm, with 3-nerved from base, glabrous, glaucous on lower surface, base rounded to cuneate, apex acuminate to obtuse, margin entire; petioles 2–8 cm long. Inflorescence in axillary, simple or compound racemes, 2–10 cm long, pubescent. Flowers greenish white to yellowish; sepals and petals similar, each 5, free, lanceolate, 1.5–3 mm long; stamens (4–)8–12, glabrous; ovary rudimentary in male flowers. Fruits winged schizocarp, a double samara, 4–7 × 1.2–2.3 cm including wings, brownish yellow, puberulous; wing falcate, broadest near apex. Habitat and ecology Hill evergreen forest, scattered, 700–2,500 m elevation. Geographic distribution Nepal, India (Assam), S China, Myanmar, Thailand, Lao PDR, Cambodia, Viet Nam, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines.
