JUSTIFICATION
Listed as Least Concern on the basis that this species is fairly widespread and seems somewhat adaptable, but further information would be helpful.
RANGE DESCRIPTION
This species is endemic to Vietnam, where it is present in the provinces of Dien Bien (Muong Nha), Lao Cai (Sa Pa), Phu Tho (Thanh Son), Quang Ninh (Binh Khe, Lam Ca, Cai Bau), Bac Giang (Luc Nam), Son La (Xuan Nha), Hoa Binh (Tu Li, Ngoc Lau, An Lac), Ninh Binh (Cuc Phuong), Thanh Hoa (Thach Thanh), Nghe An (Pu Huong), Ha Tinh (Cam Mi), Gia Lai (K Bang, Chu Se) and Kien Giang (Phu Quoc) (Bourret 1940, Nguyen et al. 2009). Records of this species from southern Vietnam have typically not been associated with voucher specimens and at least some may represent confusion with Eutropis multifasciatus, E. longicaudatus or E. macularius (Q.T. Nguyen pers. comm. 2017). More research is consequently needed to clarify this species distributional limits in southern Vietnam.

This is an uncommon species, and sometimes hard to find. There is nothing known about its population trends.
