Flowers in axillary, solitary; sepals linear-lanceolate, 4–6 × 0.5–1 mm, entire, glabrous, with 0.5–1 mm long rounded appendages; petals violet, blue or white, with dark blue veins, oblanceolate to narrowly obovate, 8–10 × 2.5–4 mm, lateral petals not bearded, spur 1–2 mm long; style 1.5–2 mm long, geniculate at base, subclavate with 2 short stigmatic lobes at apex; pedicels 1.5–5 cm long, glabrous. Fruits loculicidal capsule, 3-valved, ellipsoid, 4.5–8 mm long, glabrous. Seeds ellipsoid to subglobose, 1 mm long, creamy yellow to dark brown. Habitat and ecology Hill evergreen forest, pine forest, and clearings, 900–2,520 m elevation. Flowering and fruiting August–May. Geographic distribution India, Myanmar, S China (Yunnan), Thailand, Viet Nam, Malaysia, and Indonesia.
