Habitat and Ecology [top]
Threats [top]
Major Threat(s): Loss of breeding habitat in forests in north-east China is attributed to agricultural development and timber harvesting (Deng et al. 2003). In Japan, abandonment and development of traditional paddy fields is thought to have contributed to the speciess decline (Ueta et al. 2006). Up to 1,000 birds are shot annually on migration in Taiwan (China) (Orta et al. 2014).
