Geographic Range [top]
Range Description: This species was formerly only known from the type locality of Gunung Mulu in Sarawak (Kiew 1984), but it now also known from Danum Valley Conservation Area in Sabah, Malaysia (Howard 2012) and Ulu Temburong National Park in Brunei (Sah and Grafe 2015). The estimated extent of occurrence (EOO) is 17,852 km2. It is difficult to find, but is expected to range much more widely.

Population: It is difficult to find and is considered uncommon, however this may be due to aspects of its life history. Its population trend is unknown.

Habitat and Ecology: It is a burrowing species collected in tropical swamp (kerangas) forest that is presumed to breed in standing water after heavy rains, like other members of the genus.
